Stuff I Love I Want You To Love, Too: Nicole Anderson
If you've been around me more than thirty seconds, you've probably seen me mention a Nicole, and wondered who the eff that is. Possibly you asked who the eff that is, and then still not understood why I talk about her because it's hard to capture her appeal in 140 characters or a journal comment, and even harder to explain why usually when I mention her it's in the context of a seemingly nonsensical pairing (or pairings!). So here is the decidedly not-tweet-friendly version of who the eff she is and why the eff I care.
The Tweet Version: she's a bb Disney girl who was on the JoBros' tv show, is super adorable, & has few connections to bandom but I ship her with everyone anyay
The Long Version:
Nicole was born in 1990 (August 29), and was a gymnast from the time she was three to the time she won a national championship at thirteen. She retired from gymnastics because she was racking up too many injuries, and went to Barbizon modeling school. Modeling school led to commercial work led to bit parts on tweenie Nickelodeon and Disney shows, which led to a significant role as Macy Misa, the superfan/superathlete, on the Jonas Brothers' tv show, JONAS. Since then she's done a few different Disney projects - an ABC Family movie, one of the Plastics in Mean Girls 2, Kelly Parker on Make It Or Break It - and starred in a Lifetime movie. Currently she's working on a movie called Red Line, which will hopefully be the good kind of cheesy disaster movie/thriller.
She's into quilting, scrapbooking, hiking, Star Wars (and Star Wars crafts), and according to the rest of the Mean Girls 2 cast has a reputation for being super duper into music. She mostly talks about indie/mellow/poppy stuff, but may or may not have a soft spot for Every Time I Die (I have not yet figured out if the tweet about she and her bff Chelsea Kane going to see ETID at Warped was sarcastic; I choose to assume not, because that means she and Zack Hall were at the same show). Her favorite Beatle, and favorite concert experience, is Paul McCartney.
Nicole has a ridiculously fluffy, adorable dog named Fendi Fondue, and a cat I'm not sure she's ever posted pictures of named Trip Fontaine. She's got a buttload of tattoos: "Stay True" on her left wrist, "Belle Laide" on her right wrist ("Beautiful Ugly" in French), and two doves, five gladiolus flowers, and "Mahal Kita" ("I love you" in Filipino) on her left ribcage.
Her best ladybro is Chelsea Kane (who used to go by Chelsea Staub), who she met-cute when they were teenies (for real, Nicole went flying off a treadmill cartoon-style. Cutest of meet-cutes!). Chelsea dated Brian Dales of the Summer Set (she's the one the song "Chelsea" is about) and it's presumably through them that Nicole met the Cab and Twitter flirted up a storm with Singer. At one point she did a Young & Reckless shoot with Cassadee Pope of Hey Monday. Nicole was rumored to be dating Nick Jonas, "coincidentally" around the time their characters on JONAS were hooking up; she denied it a few times. Right now she's dating a guy from the adorable bb band States.
So as much as I love her, I wouldn't really recommend watching much of what she's been in. The exceptions are the first season of JONAS (it is a ridiculous cracky high school au with absurd premises and hidden dirty jokes and school uniforms!), which is on Netflix Instant Watch, and Make It Or Break It, which doesn't actually have a ton of Nicole but is an A++ show about girls being awesome.
Luckily, you don't have to sit through the garbage movies she keeps winding up in or her awesome tv shows (for real though, watch those sometimes), because some lovely YouTuber has made clip shows of all Nicole's parts in pretty much everything she's been in.
