Chatfic: Jon & Tom Teenage Crushnanigans
As told to verbosewordsmith. I apologize in advance for the complete lack of quotation marks and the astounding number of sentences started with "and". In this universe Jon & Tom were bb Boy Scouts, because THAT makes sense.
So as Jon & Tom get older they go on their own camping trips apart from the Boy Scouts and there is faily teenage experimenting in tents and it's great.
And then one year Jon says no camping because he's got plans with Andy, and Tom's all >_< but he brings SVV camping and fucks him, so THERE Jon Walker.
Jon is just kind of realizing maaaaybe he has some Feelings for Tom and that's just weird and not okay and Tom probably doesn't reciprocate and it'll mess up their friendship and being Jon he can't TALK to Tom about this shit so he'll just take the summer off from Tom and get it out of his system. and Andy is just a convenient excuse. also a cool bro.
And Tom is all >_< and worried because Jon is all distant! the new school he's going to is going to take him away for good >_< and he starts creepin' on dudes on the internet and hanging out with SVV.
And when Jon cancels on their camping trip, which he HATES doing but if he goes they'll mess around and if they mess around he'll probably be all I LOVE YOU when he comes and that's just gay.
So Tom invites Sean because if Jon can replace him, he can replace Jon. and he puts the faily moves on Sean and they end up fucking, which is something he and Jon haven't done yet but Tom had been kind of thinking of bringing up this trip but SO WHAT he doesn't need Jon, Sean is great.
And Jon spends the whole weekend ABSURDLY high with Andy, and Tom gets home all THE TRIP WAS SO GREAT and Jon's all NO ONE CARES and they fight and the next time Jon runs into Sean maybe he punches his stupid handsome face and they have a ridiculous teenage fistfight and Tom is even MADDER at Jon and he vents his woes to his new internet bff Scimeca.
And Scimeca's all it kind of sounds like he wants to put his dick in you. in the gay way, and Tom's all that's ridiculous! He STOPPED putting his dick on me why would he do that if he wanted to put his dick in me.
And Scimeca carefully and thoroughly explains the difference between bro dickings (no homo) and gay dickings (homo). There is a lot of nuance!
And Tom is still that is ridiculous! But less vehement about it. So he calls Jon all soooo let's go camping, we have a couple more nice weekends.
And Jon kind of wants to say no for the same reason as before but he hasn't talked to Tom since he punched SVV and it was easier to avoid him when he knew if he really wanted to he could talk to Tom anytime.
Jon is all I will camp with you but I would rather hang with Andy because he can't just not be passive aggressive when he's this messed up.
And they hang and talk and Tom gets him good and stoned before he's all so it's cool if you're into me. Like, I get how things would be weird for you. And Jon's high as a kite and sick of not having his bro and also kind of surprised Tom figured it out so he doesn't even argue he's all yeah i'm in love with you, Dickface, and I didn't want things to be weird.
And Tom is all lol and avoiding me for a month and punching SVV isn't weird? And they lol for like twenty minutes because when Tom spells it out like that Jon's logic was kind of illogical.
And then Jon leans in for kissing time! Because they are camping and camping is time for kissing and dicking. And Tom actually stops him, which, wait, no, that's not how it goes. And Tom's all dude you know i'm with Sean now, right? You know, that thing you punched him over? And Jon is all it doesn't count when we're camping! Because he is kind of a dick and also kind of a faily teenage boy.
And Tom's all adamant, which sucks, and the rest of the trip is awkward and orgasm-free, and Jon feels like an idiot for confessing and Tom feels like an ass for not starting right in with "so it makes no difference because i'm with Sean BUT are you into me?"
But it only takes a few days after they're home for Jon to be all okay, fine, I was an ass. I will apologize to your stupid boyfriend if you're sure you're not going to leave him for me. Just don't be all, like, coupley in my face
And that is super easy because Tom and Sean don't really DO coupley.
So they go back to being bros, but maybe a little distant-er just because Tom wants Sean time and Jon doesn't want Tom-and-Sean time so Tom has to split his time more than usual.
And Jon kind of gets over it? I don't think he ends up with Tom. He just kind of slowly shifts back to the friend zone with a few detours on Truckstops and Statelines while Tom and Sean are taking a break because they're too focused on their own stuff to be good boyfriends.
But eventually Jon ends up with Ryan and Tom and Sean drift together and apart a lot over the years and once they're in Empires they're pretty firmly the most married faily boyfriends, and Jon/Ryan+Tom/Sean have ridiculous double dates and possibly a handful of foursomes and it's great the end.
