verbosewordsmith and I chatfic a lot. This is one of my favorite 'verses, the one where Panic/Zack/assorted bandom folks/Nicole Anderson/Mika (it's our ridiculous chat 'verse and we'll cross over what we want to, shut up) teach at an awesone artsy alternative elementary/middle school.
I don't capitalize or punctuate properly when I chatfic, which is way more jarring next toverbosewordsmith's actual proper typing skills /o\.
( i want all the panic fic set in an elementary/middle school. brendon teaches music and jon teaches art and spencer teaches 8th grade and idk what ryan does. )

May. 11th, 2011 12:37 amAs told to verbosewordsmith. I apologize in advance for the complete lack of quotation marks and the astounding number of sentences started with "and". In this universe Jon & Tom were bb Boy Scouts, because THAT makes sense.
( So as Jon & Tom get older they go on their own camping trips apart from the Boy Scouts and there is faily teenage experimenting in tents and it's great. )

"WIP" isn't the right term for this; it's done, it's just not a complete fic. It's basically a pile of snapshots; there's a story in there somewhere, but there's no emotional arc, no problem to resolve and nothing that resolves it. Jon's assigned female at birth, comes out as transsexual fairly young, and begins transitioning in high school.
Some casual misogyny in the "scoffing at things that are 'girly' sense.
( They're the best things Jon's ever seen, the ten or so straggly dark hairs on his chin. And for once, he's almost glad for seventeen years in this stupid body. )

I have been kicking my own ass about not finishing this once since I started it, honestly. I open it up almost weekly to try and make myself power through and get it done. Basically, after a dare Jon discovers dresses are super comfy, so he starts wearing them. And it's not a Thing for him, it's entirely about comfort, but the more other people get weird about it the more defensive he gets until the point he ends up wearing a dress to something big and public. IDK. I have no idea if Jon ever teched for The Academy Is... when they were in a van, or if they ever were in a van, but oh well.
